Comic Book Coffee, number 121: Convergence Supergirl: Matrix #2

Comic Book Coffee, number 121: Convergence Supergirl: Matrix #2, penciled by Timothy Green II, inked by Joseph Silver, written by Keith Giffen, lettered by Corey Breen and colored by Hi-Fi, published by DC Comics in July 2015.

Keith Giffen appears to have regarded his contribution to DC’s Convergence crossover as an opportunity to engage in some of his trademark wacky shenanigans, and a fight between the Matrix version of Supergirl and Lady Quark from L.E.G.I.O.N. quickly segued into Supergirl having coffee with a fourth wall breaking Ambush Bug, who in typical irreverent fashion took the piss out of the whole event.

Among Timothy Green II’s earliest comic book work was a pair of stories for the anthology series Star Wars Tales from Dark Horse in 2002. This was followed by the miniseries Fraction written by David Tischman in 2004 and Rush City written by Chuck Dixon in 2006, both published by DC. Green first worked with Keith Giffen on the Annihilation: Conquest – Starlord miniseries for Marvel in 2007, which famously teamed up Rocket Raccoon and Groot for the very first time. Since then Green has worked on several series for DC, among them Animal Man, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Threshold, and Teen Titans, as well as Immortal Iron Fist and Avengers Undercover for Marvel.
