I’d like to tell you a story… many years ago I recognized young comedienne Natalie Palamides as a firebrand to the comedy scene. I have always supported her craziness and loved to see her live. At one of the shows I booked her on she dared to do humor about giving birth to a dead baby and afterwards I heard the anger of the old lady that would frequent this theater in Valley Village, CA.
“THERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU JUST DON’T JOKE ABOUT!
THERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU JUST DON’T JOKE ABOUT…”
I never forgot her scolding, or how I knew damn well that Natalie would prove her wrong. I knew it. I bet on Nat and I was right.
With her one man show NATE now available on Netflix she shows everyone why she’s the best in the biz at what she does. Its funny, uncomfortable, and thoughtful. When I watched it on my tv I laughed out loud but I also cringed, its a vastly human experience. I’d seen her perform it live a few years ago but it was still evolving and the ending wasn’t the same. I encourage everyone to go see it.
It also has one helluva well known / respected Executive Producer behind the vision of a modern-day genius.
