Comic Book Cats, number 142: Star Wars Adventures #12, drawn by Mauricet, written by Scott Peterson, lettered by Tom B. Long, and colored by Valentina Pinto, published by IDW in July 2018.
Yes, there are cats in Star Wars. After all, cats are everywhere, even in a galaxy far, far away. These feline creatures are known as tooka-cats, or tookas for short, and they are found on numerous planets throughout the galaxy. Tooka-cats have appeared in episodes of the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels, in several comic books, and recently made their live-action debut in a couple of episodes of The Mandalorian. Here we see several tooka-cats in the wild.
Belgian artist Alain Mauricet has been working in comic books since 1988 when his work began appearing in the long-running French-language comic book anthology Spirou. He subsequently worked on a number of European graphic novels, as well as occasionally venturing into American comic books. Mauricet drew the Dastardly & Mutley and Harley Quinn & The Gang of Harleys miniseries for DC Comics.
