“We would like to take an opportunity to address the recent statements made by Carlos Raphael, one of the founders of Coalition Comics, as well as creator of Power Company member Metalmorph.
Coalition Comics is a creative endeavor made up of eight individuals, which often means eight differing opinions on any one issue. None of us, speaking individually, can be said to represent the group’s views on anything.
But as a group, when we agree, we say so- and as such, we felt we should make the stance of Coalition Comics clear on a couple of things.
We will always do everything in our power to deliver on our Kickstarters. We only publish with the support of the people who pledge to back our work, and as such, we feel committed to repaying that trust as seriously as it deserves.
We will always do everything in our power to make sure that what we produce is fun to read. Otherwise, what’s the point?
We hold deep personal and professional respect for our fellow independent creators. It’s tough out there, and we know what it can take to get your vision published and into the hands of readers. As an organization, we never take that for granted.
That’s what we stand for, as a group. Anything else is down to the opinions of our individual members, which, again, do not and can not speak for the group.”
